In the summer of 2023, while still undergoing treatment for breast cancer, I rode in my first Pan-Mass Challenge. When I joined Team Duncan last year, I had no idea the impact the team, the story of Duncan, and the PMC experience would have on my life as a patient and a survivor. I met an incredible group of people and enjoyed the most magical first Pan-Mass Challenge experience. In September, my kids joined Team Duncan to ride in a PMC Kids Ride, as we continue to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Fund at DFCI. Since then, I have completed my year of treatment and had my reconstructive surgery and I'm ready to ride again!

The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is pleased to announce Jelenew as the official women’s apparel partner of the 2023 PMC Winter Cycle. The PMC is the nation’s single most successful athletic fundraiser, having raised $900 million since 1980 in support of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Dana-Farber) and its world-renowned cancer research, treatment and patient care. PMC Winter Cycle is a charitable spin event that kicks off the organization’s fundraising efforts each year.

My story is very simple. I was not feeling great and noticed that my stomach was getting larger. I made an appointment to see my PCP on the Tuesday after memorial day (and as you can imagine, I never forget this holiday) and got the news that I had cancer. I met with my oncologist on the Thursday of that same week he confirmed that it was, in fact, ovarian cancer.

2021 PMC Winter Cycle Postponed
Despite planning a small, socially distanced event, we have decided to postpone both in-person and virtual rides for the 2021 PMC Winter Cycle due to rising coronavirus cases in Boston. Why I PMC - Tracey Bourque
It all started about 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with Stage 2B Bulky Hodgkins lymphoma at the age of 45. I was very fortunate to find an amazing team of doctors and nurses at Dana Farber, a place that I still call home even to this day even when Im only visiting once a year. I knew that once I beat this, I wanted to be able to give back to this amazing "family" that I am now a part of.
